Abstract

Elderly people who are vulnerable to physical health problems and dependency in terms of personal care such as housing, eating, medical care and daily social activities will be more vulnerable to having low well-being. the aims of study to determine the relationship between family support and independence in self-care in elderly people with hypertension in Cengal Village, Maja District, Majalengka Regency in 2025. This research was a quantitative study with a research design that the author uses is cross-sectional. The population in this study were all elderly people in Cengal Village, Maja District, Majalengka Regency in 2025 as many as 218 people, the sample in this study was 69 elderly people in Cengal Village, Maja District, Majalengka Regency in 2025. Data analysis used univariate analysis and bivariate analysis. A small proportion (21.7%) of elderly people in Cengal Village, Maja District, Majalengka Regency in 2025 had poor family support. Less than half (37.7%) of elderly people in Cengal Village, Maja District, Majalengka Regency in 2025 were not independent in self-care. Conclusion. There is a relationship between family support and independence in self-care in elderly people with hypertension in Cengal Village, Maja District, Majalengka Regency in 2025, p-value 0.000 < a0.05. Elderly people with hypertension should increase their independence as a form of improving their health and controlling hypertension.
